Sant Antoni Beach Cleanup Returns to Cala Gració on September 20

September 17, 2026

Sant Antoni de Portmany will host its annual coastal clean-up this Sunday, September 20, bringing volunteers together at Cala Gració to help remove waste from the coastline and seabed.

The activity will begin at 10am and is open to residents and others wishing to take part. It is organised jointly by Sant Antoni Town Council and the municipal water and sanitation service operated by Facsa, with the municipal cleaning service also supporting the initiative.

Cala Gració Is the Meeting Point

Participants are asked to meet at Cala Gració at 10am, where the clean-up will get underway.

The event is part of a wider beach-cleaning initiative taking place on the same day at three locations in Spain, with the other sites at Playa del Pinar in Grau de Castelló and Playa de Sant Joan in Alcúdia, Mallorca. The official registration form identifies the Sant Antoni activity as the fourth edition held in the municipality.

Protecting the Coast and Seabed

The main aim of the initiative is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the natural environment through the removal of waste from both the coastline and marine environment.

Organisers describe the event as an opportunity not only to collect rubbish but also to reflect on everyday habits and encourage more sustainable behaviour towards the sea and coast.

Volunteers Receive a T-Shirt and Cap

People taking part will receive a commemorative T-shirt and cap.

At the end of the clean-up, volunteers will also be invited to share breakfast together, providing an opportunity to bring participants together after the morning's work.

Registration Deadline Has Passed

The organisers' registration form required participants to register by September 15, including details needed for accident insurance coverage.

That deadline has now passed ahead of Sunday's event. The official form lists psoria@facsa.com for further information.

A Community Effort for Sant Antoni's Coastline

The beach-cleaning day forms part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about marine litter and the importance of keeping Ibiza's coastline free from waste.

By bringing residents together for a practical conservation activity, the initiative aims to reinforce the connection between the local community and the coastal environment around Sant Antoni.

September 20 at Cala Gració

The Sant Antoni beach-cleaning initiative is scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026, with volunteers meeting at Cala Gració from 10am.

The event will focus on cleaning both the coast and seabed, while also encouraging greater awareness of the impact of waste on Ibiza's marine environment.
