Jazz Point Ibiza will return for its seventh edition from October 15 to 18, bringing four days of international jazz to The Standard, Ibiza, while continuing its focus on creating connections between established international musicians and talent from the island.

The 2026 festival features seven concerts and an international lineup including Karolina Strassmayer, Romero Lubambo, Michael Cruse, Maikel Vistel, Florian Arbenz, François Moutin, Tal Cohen, Catalina Londoño and Wayne Escoffery, alongside Ibiza-based musicians including Andreu Coll, Norberto Rodríguez, Pere Navarro and Joan Carles Marí.

Seven years of Jazz Point Ibiza

Jazz Point Ibiza began in March 2020, when its first edition was held just days before Spain entered lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since then, the festival has developed into an annual event connecting Ibiza's jazz community with musicians from international circuits, particularly the New York scene.

The 2026 edition marks the seventh instalment and represents another stage in that development, with the entire festival now concentrated at The Standard, Ibiza.

A new permanent home at The Standard

The move to The Standard follows an unexpected change during the 2025 festival.

Organisers had planned two nights at Teatro Ibiza, but flooding at the venue shortly before the event forced the programme to be relocated. The performances were moved to The Standard, where they proved successful enough for the organisers to choose the hotel as the festival's sole venue for 2026.

This year's format will combine daytime concerts on UP, the hotel's rooftop, with evening performances at JARA.

The organisers say the intention is to create a more intimate club-style environment where audiences can remain close to the musicians.

Four days and seven concerts

The programme begins on Thursday, October 15 with “A Taste of All Festival Artists” at JARA.

Four different formations will introduce audiences to the musicians taking part in the festival. These include Romero Lubambo with Andreu Coll and Joan Carles Marí, Tal Cohen with Catalina Londoño, Karolina Strassmayer with Andreu Coll and Joan Carles Marí, and a trio featuring Maikel Vistel, François Moutin and Florian Arbenz, alongside invited musicians.

Friday introduces the first afternoon concert on the UP rooftop with “The Guitar Masters”, featuring Romero Lubambo and Norberto Rodríguez.

The evening programme then moves to “The Trumpet Masters”, led by Michael Cruse with international all-stars and special guest Pere Navarro.

Saturday focuses on piano, voice and an all-star ensemble

Saturday, October 17 begins with “Sweet Sounds of Piano & Vocal”, bringing together Tal Cohen and Catalina Londoño with special guest Wayne Escoffery.

That evening, “The Jazz Point All-Stars” brings several of the festival's international musicians together, including Strassmayer, Vistel, Cruse, Moutin, Arbenz and Cohen, with Escoffery as special guest.

The format reflects one of the organisers' central ideas for the festival: bringing musicians together in different combinations rather than presenting each artist in isolation.

The closing day brings two contrasting performances

The festival concludes on Sunday, October 18.

The afternoon programme features “An Afternoon to Remember” with the Pere Navarro Trio at 14:30.

The final evening concert, “From Cannonball to Ornette”, features Karolina Strassmayer with the Florian Arbenz Trio and Andrés Coll.

Together, the final day's performances bring the festival back to its focus on collaboration between musicians from different backgrounds.

Ibiza musicians are at the centre of the programme

Local representation is an important part of the 2026 edition.

Andreu Coll, Norberto Rodríguez, Pere Navarro and Joan Carles Marí are all included in the programme alongside the international artists.

For the organisers, the interaction between local and international musicians is one of the festival's defining elements.

David Moss, co-founder of the festival, says the original idea was to give something back to Ibiza while bringing musicians connected with the New York jazz scene to the island.

From Ibiza to New York

One of the clearest examples of that exchange is Andreu Coll.

According to the festival organisers, Coll first encountered Jazz Point Ibiza as a 16-year-old student attending a masterclass.

In 2026, he travelled to New York as a musician through connections developed by the festival, performing at the Hampton Jazz Festival and at Smalls with international musicians.

He is now returning to the Ibiza festival as one of the participating artists.

For the organisers, that journey illustrates the two-way relationship they hope the festival can create rather than simply bringing international performers to Ibiza.

International musicians meet Ibiza's younger generation

The 2026 programme also includes opportunities for local musicians to learn directly from visiting artists.

Two masterclasses are planned for Saturday at The Standard, Ibiza.

Catalina Londoño will lead a session focused on vocals, while Michael Cruse will offer a masterclass open to musicians playing different instruments.

The exact times were still being finalised when the programme was announced.

The educational element has been part of Jazz Point since its early editions, providing another link between the festival's international programme and Ibiza's music community.

From New York to Ibiza

The international side of the festival is built around musicians with connections to major jazz institutions and artists.

Karolina Strassmayer is part of the WDR Big Band in Germany, while Wayne Escoffery has performed with ensembles associated with Charles Mingus and has received a Grammy Award.

Romero Lubambo brings a long career in Brazilian jazz and guitar, while the 2026 programme also includes musicians from Cuba, France, Switzerland, Israel, Colombia and the United States.

The organisers say this international mix is designed to give Ibiza audiences access to musicians they would otherwise have to travel to major jazz centres to see.

Keeping the jazz club atmosphere

Despite the international scale of its lineup, the festival's organisers say they want to retain the feeling of a small jazz club.

Previous editions have taken place in venues including Teatro Ibiza, Can Ventosa and other locations around the island.

The 2026 decision to concentrate the festival at The Standard allows the organisers to keep the audience close to the musicians while giving the event a consistent setting across all four days.

The evening performances at JARA are specifically intended to preserve that intimate atmosphere.

Seven concerts designed as connected experiences

Rather than treating each concert as a separate event, the organisers have built the 2026 programme so that musicians remain on the island throughout the festival.

This allows different artists to appear in several combinations during the four days.

The opening concert introduces much of the lineup, while subsequent performances focus on particular instruments and musical combinations.

That structure means audiences can follow individual musicians through different collaborations across the festival.

Tickets for the 2026 festival are being sold individually, allowing visitors to select individual concerts or combine several performances.

Prices start at €20 per concert, while the official festival website offers discounts of up to 20% for visitors buying multiple nights.

The Standard is also the official festival hotel and venue for this year's edition.
