British Travellers Drive Higher Hotel Rates for Palladium in the Balearic Islands as The Site Ibiza Investment Tops €90 Million

October 15, 2026

British travellers remain Palladium Hotel Group’s leading European source market in 2026, with the hotel company reporting a 10% year-on-year increase in average daily room rates paid by UK guests in the Balearic Islands.

The group says British customers account for 30% of its room revenue in Spain so far this year, matching the proportion recorded in 2025. Across its Spanish destinations, the average daily rate from UK guests has risen by 4%.

The figures point to the continued importance of the British market for the hotel group as it invests in luxury accommodation, gastronomy, retail, art and entertainment, including its development at Playa d’en Bossa in Ibiza.

UK Guests Remain a Key Market for Palladium

According to Palladium Hotel Group, the United Kingdom remains its leading European source market in 2026, ahead of Spain and the United States in the company’s reported ranking.

In Spain, British travellers generated 30% of the group’s total room revenue year to date. Although that share remains unchanged compared with 2025, the average daily room rate paid by UK guests has increased by 4%.

The increase is more pronounced in the Balearic Islands, where the group reports a 10% rise in average daily rates from British travellers compared with the previous year.

Average daily rate, or ADR, measures the average revenue earned per occupied room. It is an indicator of hotel pricing and revenue performance, rather than a measure of how much each visitor spends across an entire holiday.

The figures relate specifically to Palladium’s business and should not be interpreted as a measure of spending by all British tourists in Ibiza or the Balearic Islands.

The Site Ibiza Represents an Investment of More Than €90 Million

A central part of the group’s strategy is The Site Ibiza, an integrated hospitality and lifestyle development in Playa d’en Bossa that represents an investment of more than €90 million.

The development brings together two hotels, gastronomy, retail, art and entertainment, combining accommodation with a wider range of experiences aimed at international travellers.

Its hotel offering includes BLESS Ibiza The Site and The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel. The wider development also incorporates IBIZA Gallery and a gastronomic programme featuring concepts such as COYA Ibiza and Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen, alongside restaurants associated with chefs including Dabiz Muñoz, Dani García and Paco Roncero.

Palladium describes the project as part of its strategy to move beyond the traditional hotel stay and create a broader destination experience. The company identifies the United Kingdom, the United States, the Middle East and other European markets as important audiences for the development.

The investment reflects the group’s focus on luxury and lifestyle tourism in Playa d’en Bossa, an area already known for its hotels, beach clubs and nightlife.

British Travellers Also Lead in Tenerife and Sicily

The United Kingdom’s importance to Palladium extends beyond Ibiza and mainland Spain.

The company reports that British travellers represent its leading source market in Tenerife, accounting for 52% of its source-market share there. In Sicily, the corresponding figure is 32%.

Palladium is also expanding its luxury and lifestyle portfolio, including through the opening of BLESS Barcelona. Its wider development plans cover destinations in Europe, the United States, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates, alongside its established presence in the Caribbean and Brazil.

What the Figures Mean for Ibiza

Palladium’s latest figures underline the commercial importance of British travellers to its hotel business and the role of higher room rates in its performance across Spain.

For Ibiza, the investment in The Site reflects a wider effort by the group to position Playa d’en Bossa around a combination of accommodation, dining, shopping, art and entertainment.

However, the reported increase in average daily rates is specific to Palladium’s UK clientele. It does not establish that all hotels in Ibiza have raised their rates by the same amount or that total spending by British visitors across the island has increased by 10%.

The data nevertheless shows how one of Ibiza’s major hospitality operators is developing its offering around international visitors and higher-value hotel experiences as it looks towards the final months of 2026.
