Ibiza's Christmas Market will return to Vara de Rey this winter, and local artisans and food businesses can now apply for one of up to 31 stalls available for the 2026-27 edition.

Ibiza Town Hall opened the application period on Friday, September 25, with 21 places available for Christmas and artisan products and up to 10 additional spaces for food and drink.

The market is scheduled to run from November 28, 2026, until January 6, 2027.

21 stalls for local artisans

The artisan section will have a maximum of 21 stalls.

The Town Hall will provide and install the individual stalls for successful applicants, with each holder assigned one.

The call gives particular importance to products connected with Ibiza's traditional culture, Christmas and local craftsmanship.

Applicants can gain points for previous participation in the Christmas Market, products promoting Ibiza's traditional culture, Christmas products, originality and holding an official artisan or master-artisan qualification.

10 spaces for food and drink

The market will also have up to 10 gastronomic stalls, aimed preferably at restaurants and other food businesses established on the island.

Unlike the artisan stalls, successful food operators must provide and install their own structures, subject to the dimensions and specifications established by the Town Hall.

The gastronomic stalls will initially operate on weekends, public holidays and the days before public holidays.

From December 18, they will be required to open every day until the end of the Christmas market.

Music is part of the food-stall proposals

Applicants for the gastronomic spaces will also need to include music proposals as part of their applications.

Each applicant must submit at least three different musical proposals, which will be assessed according to the criteria established in the municipal rules.

The Town Hall will provide the stage, lighting, electrical distribution board and electrical connections required for performances. The participating groups will be responsible for bringing their own sound equipment.

Applications open until October 8

Applications opened on September 25 and will remain open until October 8, 2026.

Applications can be submitted in person through the Ibiza Town Hall's Citizen Service system at the CETIS building or electronically through the municipal online administration platform.

Companies and other applicants legally required to communicate with the administration electronically must submit their applications online.

What applicants need to provide

Applicants must provide identification details for the stall holder and the people who will work at the stall.

Each stall can have a maximum of four accredited people.

Artisan applicants must also provide a detailed description and photographs of the products they intend to sell.

Applications will be assessed through a competitive selection process based on the criteria established in the municipal rules.

What the Town Hall will look for

For artisan stalls, the selection process considers several factors.

These include previous experience at Christmas markets, the connection between the products and Ibiza's traditional culture, their Christmas character, originality and the applicant's artisan qualifications.

For food stalls, the assessment places particular emphasis on promoting Ibiza's gastronomy.

The musical programme proposed by each food-stall applicant will also form part of the evaluation.

When will the market open?

The 2026-27 Ibiza Christmas Market is scheduled to open on November 28, 2026, and continue until January 6, 2027.

The artisan stalls are expected to operate throughout the full market period.

The food stalls will have a more limited initial schedule, operating on weekends, public holidays and holiday eves before moving to daily opening from December 18.

A return to Vara de Rey

The Christmas Market will once again transform Vara de Rey into one of the central festive meeting points in Ibiza Town.

With up to 21 artisan stalls and 10 gastronomic spaces, the 2026-27 edition will combine local crafts, Christmas products, food and live entertainment in the heart of the city.
