Santa Eulària des Riu has achieved a perfect score of 10 out of 10 in the latest transparency evaluation conducted by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), earning the municipality its highest result to date and renewing the Infoparticipa Seal for 2025.

Announced on 16 October 2026, the result improves on the municipality's previous score of 9.6 out of 10. Santa Eulària is also one of only two municipalities in the Balearic Islands, alongside Inca, to receive the distinction in this edition.

The Infoparticipa Seal recognises local administrations that meet established criteria for the quality, accessibility and transparency of information published on their official websites.

What Does the Infoparticipa Seal Evaluate?

The evaluation examines how municipal administrations communicate information about their work and make it accessible to the public.

Its criteria cover several areas of local government, including:

• Political representation: Information about elected representatives and the municipal administration.

• Public resources: Details concerning the management and use of public funds.

• Public procurement: Information about contracts and municipal purchasing.

• Planning: Publicly available information about municipal plans and activities.

• Citizen participation: The mechanisms available for residents to engage with local government.

• Accessibility and clarity: How easily citizens can locate, understand and consult published information.

Santa Eulària met all the indicators assessed in this edition, securing the maximum score for the first time.

The distinction focuses specifically on the quality and transparency of information made available through the municipality's website. It is not a comprehensive assessment of every aspect of municipal performance.

Santa Eulària Improves on Its Previous Score

The perfect result marks an improvement on the 9.6 out of 10 achieved in the previous edition.

According to the municipality, the recognition reflects its work to keep website content updated, improve public access to institutional information and provide tools that allow residents to consult municipal activities and management.

The council has also highlighted the importance of making public information easier to find and understand, enabling residents to follow the work of their local administration.

The Infoparticipa Seal is designed to encourage local authorities to maintain clear, accessible and informative communication with the public.

Only Two Balearic Municipalities Receive the Distinction

Santa Eulària and Inca were the only municipalities in the Balearic Islands to receive the Infoparticipa Seal corresponding to the 2025 evaluation.

The award was presented during the Consolidem la transparència event, held at the Sala Polivalent de Sa Peixateria in Ibiza. The gathering was organised by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Associació Infoparticipa, with the collaboration of Ibiza Town Council.

Toñi Picó, Santa Eulària's second deputy mayor and councillor for Equality, Transparency and Social Action, collected the distinction on behalf of the municipality.

The event brought together institutional representatives and experts to discuss transparency in public administration and recognise local authorities that met the evaluation criteria.

A Recognition Focused on Public Access to Information

For residents, access to clear and up-to-date municipal information can make it easier to understand local decisions, examine public spending and find information about services and opportunities to participate in civic life.

Santa Eulària's score reflects its performance against the indicators used in the Infoparticipa assessment. Maintaining that standard will depend on the municipality continuing to publish information that is complete, current, accessible and understandable.

The latest result places Santa Eulària among the two Balearic municipalities recognised in the 2025 edition, while marking a new high point in its score under the evaluation.
