A man is due to stand trial in Ibiza on Tuesday, September 22, over a package containing 100 grams of cannabis and 36 grams of cocaine that allegedly arrived on the island under a false name.

The case concerns a suspected offence against public health, with the Fiscalía requesting four years and six months in prison and a €7,000 fine.

Package Arrived Under a False Name

According to the prosecution's indictment, the package was sent to Ibiza by a courier company using the name of a person who did not actually exist.

The Fiscalía alleges that the false identity was used to avoid suspicion when the package was collected.

The drugs were allegedly concealed inside the package among electronic equipment and electrical sockets.

Arrest in June 2022

The accused was arrested in June 2022 when he went to collect the package at the offices of a courier company in Ibiza.

He subsequently spent three days in prison following his arrest.

The hearing is being held at the Audiencia Provincial de Baleares in Ibiza on Tuesday, September 22.
