Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival Sets New Registration Record with 1,380 Runners for Sant Antoni Race

October 21, 2026

The Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival has reached a new participation record, with 1,380 runners registered for its 18th edition on Saturday, 24 October. Organised by Club Deportivo Es Puig Ibiza, the event will bring three trail-running distances to Sant Antoni de Portmany, alongside a programme of local gastronomy and live music.

All three races will start and finish on the Sant Antoni seafront promenade, close to s'Arenal beach. The festival aims to combine competitive trail running with an opportunity for participants and visitors to discover Ibiza's inland landscapes, restaurants and music beyond the main summer season.

Three Trail-Running Distances Across Ibiza

The 2026 edition offers three routes designed for different levels of experience and endurance:

  • Starter: 12 kilometres, aimed at runners looking for a shorter trail challenge or an introduction to the sport.

  • Media: 28 kilometres, combining an ascent towards Sa Talaia with inland trails and coastal sections overlooking the Mediterranean.

  • Maratón: 48 kilometres, with approximately 1,600 metres of positive elevation gain.

The longest route shares the opening 14 kilometres with the 28 km course before branching towards Santa Agnès and Es Broll. It then reconnects with the shorter route at approximately kilometre 34 before returning to Sant Antoni.

The 28 km race includes around 900 metres of positive elevation gain, while the Starter offers a shorter alternative for participants who prefer a less demanding distance.

The organisers have confirmed that the 28 km category has sold out. Registration for the event has closed.

Gastromaratón Brings Local Restaurants into the Festival

The festival extends beyond the racecourse through its Gastromaratón programme, which encourages runners and accompanying visitors to explore the gastronomy of Sant Antoni.

Participating restaurants are offering special menus and discounts, creating opportunities for participants to enjoy local food throughout the event weekend.

The initiative also aims to bring activity to the municipality's hospitality businesses outside the peak summer months, connecting sporting tourism with the island's culinary offer.

Los Estanques and El Canijo de Jerez to Perform Live

Music will form another part of Saturday's programme, with Los Estanques and El Canijo de Jerez scheduled to perform after the sporting events.

The artists will present material from their joint album, Lágrimas de plomo fundido, bringing a live-music element to the festival for runners, friends and accompanying visitors.

The concert completes the event's three-part format, combining trail running, gastronomy and music in Sant Antoni.

A Sporting Event Supporting Ibiza's Low Season

The Ibiza Trail Maratón Festival has developed into an event designed to attract runners with different levels of experience while showcasing the island's varied terrain. The routes pass through inland landscapes, technical trails and coastal areas, offering a different perspective on Ibiza beyond its beaches and nightlife.

The record registration figure of 1,380 participants underlines the event's growing reach. The organisers and supporting institutions have also highlighted its potential to attract visitors outside the traditional summer season, bringing activity to local businesses in October.

With the 28 km category already sold out and registration closed, the focus now turns to race day on Saturday, 24 October, when Sant Antoni will host the runners and the wider festival programme.
