October 21, 2026

This Wednesday, October 21, 2026, visitors can explore The Footprints of the Sun by Marcel Boer at Olas Gallery in Santa Eulària, Pulsión Creadora y, Algoritmo Intuitivo? at Sa Punta des Molí in Sant Antoni, Within the Pattern by Roos Dessing at Studio 55 Gallery in Cala Llonga, Cel d’Or by Stefan Brüggemann at MACE in Dalt Vila, and I en la mar, els somnis by Hans Grass at Museu Puget in Ibiza Town.

From photography inspired by Mediterranean light and contemporary painting to the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence and exhibitions exploring the relationship between art and the sea, these five exhibitions highlight the diversity of Ibiza's cultural scene during the autumn season.

1. The Footprints of the Sun by Marcel Boer at Olas Gallery

Photography and Mediterranean light come together in The Footprints of the Sun, an exhibition by Ibiza-based photographer Marcel Boer at Olas Gallery in Santa Eulària des Riu.

The exhibition explores the island through its changing light, colours and everyday details. Rather than focusing exclusively on recognisable landmarks, Boer draws attention to the textures, reflections and fleeting moments that give familiar surroundings their distinctive character.

The photographs capture the interaction between sunlight, Mediterranean landscapes and everyday surfaces, inviting visitors to look at Ibiza from a more intimate perspective. Warm tones, subtle reflections and atmospheric compositions offer a visual interpretation of the island that goes beyond its typical tourist imagery.

Boer's practice combines documentary photography, fine art and commercial work. In this exhibition, his personal exploration of the island's light transforms ordinary details into photographic subjects.

The exhibition opened on September 24 and continues until October 24, making Wednesday one of the final opportunities to see the collection before it closes.

2. Pulsión Creadora y, Algoritmo Intuitivo? at Sa Punta des Molí

Can artificial intelligence create art, and what happens to human intuition when technology becomes part of the creative process? These questions form the starting point of Pulsión Creadora y, Algoritmo Intuitivo?, a collective exhibition by Núcleo Art Ibiza at Sa Punta des Molí in Sant Antoni.

Running from October 2 to 24, the exhibition brings together twelve participating artists working across painting, sculpture, installation, video art, digital media and other contemporary forms. Music also forms part of the programme, with Vinsent participating as a guest musician.

The works examine the relationship between human creativity and artificial intelligence, considering how intuition, experimentation, mistakes and personal experience contribute to artistic expression.

Rather than presenting technology as a replacement for the artist, the exhibition considers AI as another tool that can expand creative possibilities while leaving the human process at the centre of artistic practice.

The venue is the Sala Walter Benjamin at Espai Cultural Sa Punta des Molí, a cultural space beside the sea in the bay of Sant Antoni.

With the exhibition approaching its closing date on October 24, Wednesday offers an opportunity to explore a subject that continues to generate debate across the contemporary art world.

3. Within the Pattern by Roos Dessing at Studio 55 Gallery

Dutch painter Roos Dessing presents Within the Pattern at Studio 55 Gallery in Cala Llonga, with an exhibition exploring the connections between light and darkness, order and uncertainty, beauty and pain.

Dessing's layered paintings translate the energies and intentions of the people and environments around her into colours, textures and forms. Her approach combines a rich palette with carefully arranged materials and three-dimensional details, creating works that invite viewers to look beyond their immediate visual impressions.

The exhibition reflects on the idea that life reveals its meaning gradually, with individual experiences forming part of a much larger picture. Each painting offers a different arrangement of colour and material, suggesting that seemingly separate elements can be connected in ways that are not immediately visible.

Dessing is an Amsterdam-based artist whose creative practice developed through years of observing and absorbing her surroundings. Her work brings together detailed craftsmanship and an intuitive approach to composition.

Studio 55 Gallery opened in late 2025 as a contemporary art space in Cala Llonga, offering a setting for exhibitions by local and international artists.

Within the Pattern opened on October 13 and runs until November 7, providing several more weeks to discover the exhibition.

4. Cel d’Or by Stefan Brüggemann at MACE

Contemporary artist Stefan Brüggemann brings an exploration of language, meaning and perception to MACE, the Museu d'Art Contemporani d'Eivissa, with his exhibition Cel d’Or.

Brüggemann, who lives and works between Ibiza, London and Mexico, is known for a conceptual approach that examines how words, structures and visual forms influence the way people understand reality.

His practice draws on conceptual and post-conceptual art, using language and familiar forms to challenge established meanings. His paintings combine gesture and materiality, while his installations explore how narratives and communication shape relationships between people and the world around them.

The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to engage with contemporary art that goes beyond straightforward representation. Instead, it encourages reflection on the role of language, interpretation and perception in everyday life.

Presented in MACE's Sala d'Armes, Cel d’Or opened on June 20 and continues until November 15, 2026.

The museum is located within Dalt Vila, making it easy to combine the exhibition with a walk through Ibiza's historic old town and its surrounding heritage sites.

5. I en la mar, els somnis by Hans Grass at Museu Puget

The relationship between art, memory and the Mediterranean landscape takes centre stage at Museu Puget with I en la mar, els somnis, an exhibition dedicated to Swiss artist Hans Grass.

Grass, who lived from 1933 to 1998, developed a personal artistic language influenced by the natural environment, architecture and everyday life. His work reflects a close connection with the Mediterranean, particularly the landscapes and light of Ibiza and Formentera.

The exhibition brings together paintings that explore the sea, traditional architecture and ordinary moments of daily life. Through expressive brushwork and vibrant colours, Grass captures places and experiences shaped by observation and memory.

His time in the Pityusic Islands provided a lasting source of inspiration, and the selected works offer visitors an opportunity to understand how the surrounding landscape influenced his artistic vision.

The exhibition also provides a fitting opportunity to visit Museu Puget, a cultural institution in Dalt Vila known for its connection with Ibiza's artistic heritage and its collections documenting island life.

I en la mar, els somnis opened on July 3 and remains scheduled until December 31, 2026.

Five Exhibitions to Discover in Ibiza This Wednesday

Wednesday, October 21, offers an opportunity to explore five different approaches to art across Ibiza, from Marcel Boer's photography of Mediterranean light to Stefan Brüggemann's conceptual works at MACE.

At Sa Punta des Molí, Núcleo Art Ibiza examines the relationship between artificial intelligence and human creativity, while Roos Dessing's Within the Pattern invites visitors to consider the connections between colour, material and meaning.

The exhibitions by Marcel Boer and Hans Grass take a different approach, exploring the island and the Mediterranean through photography and painting. Together, the five exhibitions highlight the range of creative practices that continue to shape Ibiza's cultural life beyond the summer season.

Visitors can combine an art-focused afternoon with a walk through Dalt Vila, a visit to Santa Eulària or time in Sant Antoni's coastal surroundings. Before travelling, check opening hours directly with the museums and galleries, particularly where the published autumn schedules differ.
