The Centre d’Interpretació es Amunts in Sant Llorenç is hosting the second Geological Day of Es Amunts on Saturday, October 10, offering an introduction to Ibiza’s geological history alongside a closer look at rocks, geological samples and the women who have contributed to the field.

The free morning activity runs from 10:00 to 12:30 and requires advance registration.

A Morning Exploring Ibiza’s Geology

The programme begins with a theoretical introduction to some of the most important aspects of Ibiza’s geological history.

Participants will also have the opportunity to examine geological samples using binocular magnifying glasses, providing a more practical element to the session.

The activity will then continue with a visit to the temporary exhibition “GEAS, dones en geologia”, a CSIC exhibition dedicated to women who have contributed to the study of geology.

The morning concludes with a visit to the stratigraphic column located in the centre’s garden.
