dTAPASxIBZ Returns to Ibiza Town with Five Days of Creative Tapas This October

06 de October de 2026

Ibiza Town is preparing for five days of food, creativity and local flavours as dTAPASxIBZ returns for its second edition from October 21 to 25, 2026.

The gastronomic route brings participating bars and restaurants together for a tapas competition designed to encourage residents and visitors to discover the city's culinary scene while supporting local restaurants during the autumn.

Each participating establishment will create its own tapa specifically for the event, giving diners the opportunity to explore different parts of the city one bite at a time.

Five Days of Tapas

From Wednesday, October 21, participating establishments will offer a specially created tapa throughout the five-day route.

Each tapa will cost between €5 and €10 and will be available during the establishment's normal opening hours.

The organisers are encouraging visitors to move from one venue to another, discovering different restaurants and sampling the individual creations prepared for the competition.

The official dTAPASxIBZ web app will provide information about the participating venues, their tapas and their locations, allowing visitors to plan their own route around Ibiza Town.

Residents and Visitors

The event is designed for both people who live in Ibiza and those visiting the island.

Organisers and participating institutions see the autumn route as an opportunity to highlight restaurants and chefs who are part of everyday life in the city's neighbourhoods but may be less familiar to a wider audience.

The initiative also aims to generate additional activity for the hospitality sector outside the busiest summer months.

At the presentation of the second edition, Ibiza Town Mayor Rafael Triguero encouraged residents to take advantage of the five-day event to discover new establishments and the creativity of the city's kitchens.

A Competition as Well as a Food Route

dTAPASxIBZ is not simply a restaurant promotion. It is also a competition.

Customers can vote for their favourite tapa through the official web app, while a professional jury will evaluate the participating creations.

The 2026 jury includes journalist and writer Juan Luis Galiacho, Ibiza photographer and businessman Sergio Garrido, Tomàs París representing the Ajuntament d'Eivissa, and chef Koldo Royo, president of the Asociación de Cocineros Afincados en las Islas Baleares.

There will be two forms of recognition: a public award, based on customer voting, and a jury award decided by the professional panel.

The results will be announced after the route has finished.

Local Products and Ibiza's Food Scene

One of the themes highlighted by the organisers is the use of local produce.

The event gives participating chefs an opportunity to experiment with ingredients associated with Ibiza while presenting them in a small-format dish designed specifically for the competition.

For the restaurant sector, the route also provides an opportunity to showcase creativity and encourage customers to visit establishments they may not normally try.

Estela Armada of PIMEEF described the initiative as a way of giving greater visibility to Ibiza's restaurants and the food being produced on the island.

From Ibiza to the National Tapas Competition

The competition also has a wider objective.

According to the official dTAPASxIBZ website, the winning tapa will represent Ibiza at the Campeonato Nacional de Tapas de Valladolid, giving the successful establishment an opportunity to take its creation beyond the island.

That adds another competitive element to the five-day event, with chefs not only seeking to attract diners but also competing for recognition from both the public and the professional jury.

A Taste of Ibiza in Autumn

The second edition of dTAPASxIBZ will take place across Ibiza Town from October 21 to 25.

With tapas priced between €5 and €10, a dedicated web app and a combination of public voting and professional judging, the event offers a simple way to explore the city's restaurants while supporting the local hospitality sector outside the peak summer period.

For five days, Ibiza's food scene will move from one establishment to another, inviting residents and visitors to discover new flavours, local ingredients and the chefs behind them.
