A Lamborghini owner has been fined €200 by the Policía Local de Ibiza after the high-end car was found improperly parked in the city.

The incident took place in the area around the Mercat Vell in Ibiza's historic centre, where the vehicle was photographed in a pedestrian area near the entrance to the ramp leading towards Dalt Vila. The Mercat Vell itself is located in a pedestrian zone in the heart of the Marina.

The Policía Local de Ibiza shared an image of the vehicle on its social media channels and confirmed that a €200 penalty had been issued for the parking offence.

The Car Was Removed Before the Tow Truck Arrived

The incident could have resulted in the Lamborghini being taken to the municipal depot.

According to the Policía Local, however, the owner removed the vehicle before the tow truck arrived. As a result, the car was not ultimately transported to the depot.

Police warned that improperly parked vehicles can also be removed, meaning that a fine is not necessarily the only consequence of this type of parking violation.

Parking Rules Apply Regardless of the Car

The Policía Local used the incident to underline a straightforward point: parking regulations apply regardless of the type or value of a vehicle.

The message accompanying the police photograph referred to the Lamborghini in an ironic tone, while reminding drivers that having an expensive vehicle does not exempt them from the city's parking rules.

The episode has also highlighted the particular restrictions around the historic centre, where pedestrian areas and access routes around the Marina and Dalt Vila require careful attention from drivers.
