José Vicente Marí Bosó to Lead PP List in the Balearic Islands for Spain's 29 November General Election

October 21, 2026

José Vicente Marí Bosó, president of the People's Party (PP) in Ibiza, will once again lead the party's list for the Congress of Deputies in the Balearic Islands in Spain's general election on 29 November 2026. The nomination has been confirmed by the party, with Marí Bosó seeking to retain his seat in the national parliament and help Alberto Núñez Feijóo become Spain's next prime minister.

Marí Bosó thanked the PP's national leader, Feijóo, and his party colleagues for their confidence in him as he prepares to head the Balearic Islands candidacy again.

He described the opportunity to lead the list as an honour and reiterated his commitment to working for political change in Spain, identifying Feijóo's arrival at La Moncloa as one of his main objectives.

Marí Bosó's Role in the Spanish Congress

Marí Bosó currently represents the Balearic Islands in the Congress of Deputies, the lower house of Spain's national parliament. During the current parliamentary term, he has served as deputy spokesperson for the PP parliamentary group and has held responsibilities relating to budget matters.

His return as lead candidate places him at the forefront of the PP's campaign in the Balearic Islands, which includes Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.

The party has not yet announced the full list of candidates who will run alongside him in the constituency.

What Marí Bosó Says a PP Government Would Mean for the Balearic Islands

Marí Bosó has argued that a national government led by Feijóo would pursue policies intended to improve progress and wellbeing for residents of the Balearic Islands.

He also said a future PP-led government in Madrid should support and complement the policies being pursued by the regional government headed by Marga Prohens, also of the PP.

The candidate framed this cooperation between the national and regional administrations as a way to improve living conditions across the islands. These statements reflect the party's political objectives ahead of the election.

The 29 November General Election

Spain's general election is scheduled for 29 November 2026. The PP is gradually announcing its candidates for the Congress of Deputies and the Senate ahead of the deadline for submitting electoral lists to the provincial electoral boards.

Marí Bosó's nomination confirms who will lead the party's congressional list in the Balearic Islands, but the outcome of the election remains undecided.

For Ibiza, his candidacy means the island's PP president will once again be the leading figure on the party's list for the national parliament as the campaign develops.
