Ibiza Brings 19 Choirs Together for Six Free Concerts Across the Island

October 21, 2026

Ibiza will celebrate its choral music tradition with 19 choirs performing in six free concerts across the island between 24 October and 15 November 2026. The II Trobada de Corals Lina Bufí, organised by the Ibiza Island Council, will visit churches in Santa Eulària, Ibiza Town, Sant Antoni, Sant Josep and Sant Joan, bringing together local vocal groups of different ages and musical traditions.

Admission to all six concerts will be free until capacity is reached. The programme will conclude with a special performance by Cor Amics de sa Música, marking the choir's 50th anniversary.

A Choral Music Festival Dedicated to Lina Bufí

The event returns after a previous gathering in January 2024 and now carries the name of Lina Bufí, in recognition of her contribution to music education and cultural life in Ibiza.

During the presentation, the Council's councillor for Culture, Education and Heritage, Sara Ramon, highlighted Bufí's role in establishing the foundations of formal music education on the island.

The programme also aims to bring choral singing to communities across Ibiza's five municipalities, using parish churches as venues for concerts that connect music with local heritage and community life.

The organisation is supported by Petit Cor, which has helped coordinate the participating choirs and arrangements with the Diocese of Ibiza.

Celebrating Ibiza's Choral Music Community

The Trobada de Corals Lina Bufí highlights the variety of choral groups active across Ibiza, from parish choirs and gospel singers to youth ensembles and groups rooted in traditional music.

By spreading the concerts across the island, the Ibiza Island Council aims to make live choral music accessible to residents in all five municipalities while celebrating the cultural value of the island's historic churches.

The programme also offers an opportunity to recognise the people who sustain local musical traditions, with the final concert combining the wider choral gathering with a milestone anniversary for Cor Amics de sa Música.
