Pacha Foundation Supports AEMIF's Neurological Care Services in Ibiza and Formentera

October 22, 2026

The Pacha Foundation has reaffirmed its support for AEMIF, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Ibiza and Formentera, helping sustain services for people living with neurological conditions across the Pityusic Islands.

The collaboration aims to support access to personalised care regardless of a person's financial circumstances. According to figures reported in October 2026, AEMIF was providing multidisciplinary support to 157 people in Ibiza and Formentera, while more than 20 people remained on its waiting list.

Multidisciplinary Support for Neurological Conditions

AEMIF provides a range of services designed to improve quality of life, support rehabilitation and preserve personal independence.

Its multidisciplinary team includes professionals working in neurophysiotherapy, psychology, neuropsychology, speech and language therapy, social work, neurology and neuronutrition.

The association supports people living with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Huntington's disease and spinal cord injuries. It also works with people experiencing acquired brain injuries following a stroke or traumatic brain injury.

The aim is to respond to each person's individual needs, helping them maintain or recover abilities that can make a meaningful difference to everyday life.

Four Services Address Different Needs

AEMIF organises its work through four principal services.

The Orientation, Care and Advice Service (SOAA) provides guidance and support to people seeking help. The Comprehensive Care and Promotion of Personal Autonomy Service (SAIPAP) offers personalised assistance aimed at maintaining and developing independence.

The association also operates a day centre in collaboration with the Ibiza Island Council, alongside its Universal Accessibility Service (SAU).

Together, these services address different aspects of living with neurological conditions, from rehabilitation and daily support to accessibility and assistance for individuals and their families.

More Than 20 People Reportedly Waiting for Support

Demand for specialised neurological services remains a challenge for the association.

Figures published in October 2026 indicated that more than 20 people were waiting to access AEMIF's services. The waiting list highlights the difficulty of responding immediately to every request for assistance across Ibiza and Formentera.

At the same time, the association reports that some people complete their treatment plans, achieve their therapeutic objectives and are discharged, allowing places to become available to others.

The Pacha Foundation's support contributes to maintaining continuity of care and helping AEMIF continue its work with people who need specialised assistance.

The Pacha Foundation's Community Work

Established as a private non-profit organisation in late 2018, the Pacha Foundation continued the social work associated with the Pacha Group.

Its activities extend across social welfare, culture, sport and environmental conservation.

The collaboration with AEMIF forms part of its wider community engagement, supporting services intended to help people with neurological conditions retain their abilities, independence and connections with everyday life.

For AEMIF, maintaining access to personalised care remains central to its work across the islands, particularly for people whose needs require ongoing multidisciplinary support.
