Police Arrest Suspected Recipients of 4.285kg Cannabis and Hashish Parcel Destined for Ibiza

October 22, 2026

Spanish National Police have arrested the suspected recipients of a parcel containing more than four kilograms of cannabis and hashish that was intercepted in mainland Spain before being sent to Ibiza. Investigators used a judicially supervised controlled delivery to follow the shipment to the island and identify the people expected to collect it.

The operation began in Linares, in the province of Jaén, where officers detected a suspicious parcel prepared for dispatch. The shipment contained a total of 4.285 kilograms of drugs, according to information released by police and reported on 21 October 2026.

The arrests were carried out by National Police officers in Ibiza in coordination with investigators in Jaén. The investigation remains open.

More Than Four Kilograms of Drugs Found in Parcel

Police initially identified the package in Linares after noticing signs that it might contain illegal substances. Officers secured the shipment and obtained the required judicial authorisation to open it.

Inside, investigators found 2,885 grams of cannabis buds sealed in packaging and 1,400 grams of hashish in tablet form.

The combined weight was 4,285 grams, equivalent to 4.285 kilograms.

The parcel was intended for delivery to Ibiza. Rather than simply stopping the shipment at its point of origin, investigators arranged a controlled delivery so they could follow its journey and identify the intended recipients.

Controlled Delivery Leads to Arrests in Ibiza

The controlled delivery was conducted under the direction of the competent judicial authority, with National Police teams in Jaén and Ibiza working together.

Once the parcel reached the designated delivery point on the island, officers arrested the people who were due to receive it.

The recipients are suspected of an offence against public health under Spanish law. Their arrest does not constitute a conviction, and the available police information does not identify them publicly or detail any charges beyond the suspected offence.

Investigation Remains Open

Police said the investigation was continuing to establish the full extent of the suspected drug-supply route between mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands.

Further investigative action and additional arrests have not been ruled out.

The case highlights the role of coordinated investigations between police units in different parts of Spain, using controlled deliveries to identify suspected recipients rather than ending an operation when a suspicious parcel is first intercepted.

No further details about the suspects or the wider supply network had been confirmed in the reports available on 21 October 2026.
