A 16-year-old boy has died following a serious bicycle accident in Ibiza during the early hours of Sunday, September 27.

The teenager was riding his bicycle when he collided with a wall at the Cala Llonga viewpoint at around 1:50 a.m. The circumstances that led to the crash have not been established.

Emergency teams performed resuscitation

The impact left the teenager in cardiorespiratory arrest when emergency services arrived.

SAMU 061 dispatched two ambulances to the scene, including an Advanced Life Support unit and a Basic Life Support unit. Medical teams began resuscitation efforts and succeeded in recovering the teenager.

He was stabilised and transferred by ambulance to the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Ibiza, where he was admitted in critical condition.

Teenager later died from his injuries
